Veteran Yoruba actor Ogogo battling stage-four cancer, daughters seek medical help

The daughters of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, widely known as Ogogo, have made urgent appeals for medical help as their father battles stage-four cancer. Lima and Kira Taiwo shared emotional pleas on Instagram on Monday, seeking assistance from Nigerians, well-wishers, and medical professionals experienced in cancer treatment.

Hello everybody, good evening. I’m here to ask for help from my daddy. He has cancer, and it’s really, really bad. And the hospitals are refusing to treat him. At least, please, give this man a chance.

Lima explained that her father's condition has worsened and that hospitals have reportedly turned him away. "At least, please, give this man a chance," she pleaded in a video, fighting back tears. She noted that the family only realized the severity of his illness about three weeks prior, as his appearance had not initially indicated the extent of his condition.

You see him, you can’t even know that something is wrong that bad. It’s just starting to show. We didn’t even know until like three weeks ago.

Kira revealed that the cancer is at stage four and that the current hospital can no longer administer chemotherapy. "What I’m here for is that if you can treat my daddy, if you can start chemo for him, whether it’s medical or herbs, please, I’m begging you guys," she urged. Both sisters emphasized they are seeking medical intervention and not soliciting money, though they acknowledged support received from a relative and Senator Yayi for financial assistance.
