Video: Dangerous Fugitive Who Brutally Attacked Man with Two Machetes Captured

Authorities have apprehended Brígido Alvarenga Riquelme, 42, a fugitive accused of a violent machete attack earlier this week. The capture occurred on Saturday afternoon in Fernando de la Mora, Paraguay, following a tip from human sources within the National Police.

Alvarenga Riquelme was wanted on an attempted intentional homicide charge, with an arrest warrant issued on June 15. He is also known to have an extensive criminal record, including charges for homicide and robbery. The suspect attempted to flee on foot when he realized police were present but was quickly subdued.

Security camera footage captured the brutality of the attack on the morning of Monday, June 15. The video shows Alvarenga Riquelme approaching a victim sitting on the street and attacking him with two machetes. The footage reveals a second, equally violent confrontation minutes later, after which the assailant calmly walked away.

The victim suffered severe injuries, particularly to a leg, and was seen bleeding profusely before losing consciousness on the street approximately 20 minutes after the initial assault. Due to the suspect's dangerous nature, officers requested backup for his transport. Following protocol, Alvarenga Riquelme was taken for a medical evaluation before being held at the police station pending further legal proceedings.
