VIDEO: Dinamo players jeered after Gorica match

Dinamo Zagreb returned to winning ways in the SuperSport HNL, but the 1-0 victory over last-placed Gorica at Maksimir did little to calm the supporters.

Dion Drena Beljo scored the only goal in the 29th minute. After a move down the left, the ball reached the area, where Beljo reacted quickest in a crowded penalty box and bundled it into the net from close range.

Dinamo controlled more of the play but could not put the match beyond Gorica. The visitors grew increasingly dangerous as the game progressed. Ivan Cvijanović hit the crossbar in the 74th minute, and two minutes later Dominik Kotarski kept Dinamo ahead with an excellent save from Frano Brodić.

Kotarski marked his Dinamo debut with several important interventions, while Gorica goalkeeper Josipović also worked hard to keep his side in the match. Luka Ivanušec returned in the 71st minute, making his first appearance since rejoining the club several days earlier.

Dinamo held on for the three points, but the final whistle brought loud jeers rather than celebration from the Maksimir stands. The result ended the club’s winless run, yet the performance did not suggest a team in complete control.
