The city of Encarnación erupted in jubilant celebrations as thousands of Paraguayans took to the streets following their national football team's dramatic qualification for the World Cup knockout stage.

Fans filled the streets of the city center, with major avenues like Caballero, Irrazábal, and Francia becoming impassable due to the sheer volume of celebrating citizens and vehicles. Many headed towards the Costanera República del Paraguay, a popular waterfront area, which saw a kilometer-long line of cars filled with fans chanting in support of the Albirroja, Paraguay's national team.

The team secured its spot in the Round of 16 by defeating Germany in a hard-fought match in the North American World Cup. The agonizing victory fueled the fans' effusive celebrations, with young supporters expressing renewed hope despite the team's performance in the group stage.

The celebrations extended beyond the city limits, with traffic jams forming on the PY01 and PY06 routes for at least two kilometers before reaching Encarnación. The overwhelming joy and relief among the fans were palpable, marking a significant moment for Paraguayan football.
