Vienna water use up by a third amid heatwave

Vienna's water consumption has surged by a third, reaching about 540,000 cubic meters daily, as residents cope with a recent heatwave. This figure significantly surpasses the typical daily usage of 400,000 cubic meters.

Meanwhile, the mineral water producer Vöslauer also reported a substantial increase in demand. In the fourth week of June, production rose by approximately 20 percent compared to the same period in 2025, reaching about 6.76 million liters.
