Vietnam Expressway: Truck Suspected of Causing Multiple Tire Punctures

A truck is suspected of causing multiple vehicles to suffer flat tires on the Quang Ngai - Quy Nhon expressway after allegedly shedding sharp objects. Khu Quản lý đường bộ III (Road Management Area III) reported the incident, which occurred early on August 6.

Several cars experienced identical tire punctures, leading authorities to investigate the possibility of a vehicle dropping sharp debris onto the highway. Through surveillance cameras, including those at the Binh De, Cu Mong, Tuy An, and Deo Ca tunnels, investigators identified a suspicious truck with license plate 36H-188.83 as the likely culprit.

Authorities quickly intercepted the vehicle to prevent further damage. Road management forces were deployed to clear the sharp objects from the roadway. The management unit collaborated with traffic police to review data and set up checkpoints, managing traffic flow and providing assistance to affected vehicles, including tire changes and repairs.

In a separate but related incident, the management unit for the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway also detected a vehicle entering the Nui Vung tunnel. Traffic police intercepted this vehicle at the tunnel's control center. Road Management Area III has directed operational units to inspect the scene, remove obstacles, warn drivers, and work closely with traffic police to manage traffic, provide rescue services, and locate the vehicle responsible for shedding debris.
