Vietnam’s Navy Region 4 holds lively celebrations for National Day

From mainland ports to the Spratly Islands, Vietnam’s Navy Region 4 marked National Day with football, volleyball, tug-of-war, sack races and other activities. The celebrations commemorated the 81st anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam’s National Day on September 2.

Units organized cultural and sporting events suited to local conditions. Matches and friendly competitions between agencies, units and youth groups drew broad participation from officers and soldiers, as well as enthusiastic crowds.

The program also included broadcasts, banners and slogans, along with screenings of documentaries and revolutionary films. Troops took part in cultural exchanges and performances praising the Communist Party, Ho Chi Minh, the homeland, the country, the military, the navy and Vietnam’s seas and islands.

The activities were intended to build national pride and strengthen service members’ awareness and responsibility, particularly in protecting the country’s maritime sovereignty. Despite the celebrations, units maintained strict discipline, safety standards and combat-readiness duties without interruption.

The events ended on September 2 after several days of activities across Navy Region 4. They left a festive atmosphere and reinforced solidarity among personnel, while encouraging them to fulfill their assigned duties and protect Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty.
