Vietnam, Thailand value comprehensive cooperation

Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man's visit to Thailand, following President To Lam's trip, is expected to invigorate practical cooperation between the two nations. Man emphasized Vietnam's commitment to its multifaceted relationship with Thailand, highlighting the strong development across all sectors.

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul expressed his pleasure at visiting Vietnam for the first time, underscoring the long-standing and close ties between the two countries. He affirmed Thailand's high regard for its comprehensive partnership with Vietnam and sought the Vietnamese National Assembly's support in making the strategic partnership more substantive and effective.

Vietnam always attaches importance to and prioritizes the development of friendly and multifaceted cooperation with Thailand.

Both leaders agreed to boost economic connectivity by implementing the "Three Connects" strategy, aiming to reach a trade volume of $25 billion. Cooperation in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation will also be expanded. They will continue to exchange delegations and foster inter-parliamentary exchanges based on the 2023 cooperation agreement between their respective parliaments.

Chairman Man also requested the Thai government's continued support for the Vietnamese community in Thailand, encouraging their active participation in economic and social life and their role as a bridge for bilateral friendship. Both sides committed to close coordination within ASEAN, the UN, APEC, and Mekong sub-regional cooperation frameworks, focusing on economic development and sustainable water resource management of the Mekong River.
