Vietnam women's volleyball team convenes for packed international schedule

The Vietnam women's national volleyball team has gathered in Hanoi, fully equipped and ready to compete in a demanding schedule of international events. This assembly marks the beginning of an intense period for the squad, led by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet.

Following their recent reunion, the team participated in the "Vietnam Volleyball Journey 2026" event organized by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV). This initiative aimed to boost morale before they embark on a series of crucial tournaments. The upcoming competitions include the AVC Women's Volleyball Cup in the Philippines from June 6-14, where Vietnam aims for a fourth consecutive championship title among Asia's top 12 teams.

Further challenges await with two legs of the SEA V.League 2026, the first hosted in Vietnam (July 31-August 2) and the second in Thailand (August 7-9). The VTV Cup 2026 follows shortly after, from August 8-9. The team will then test their mettle in the Asian Championship in China (August 21-30) and the 2026 Asian Games in Japan (September 16-22), venues where they previously achieved historic top finishes three years ago.

Le Tri Truong, Vice President and General Secretary of the VFV, outlined the team's primary goal for the 2026 Asian Games: to consistently strive for a position within the top four Asian teams. The 14-player roster announced by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet includes prominent athletes such as Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Nguyen Thi Uyên, signaling the team's strong ambition for the upcoming season.
