Vietnamese rescuers find 45 bodies in Venezuela earthquake disaster

Vietnamese rescue teams have recovered 45 bodies from the debris in Venezuela following a devastating earthquake. The Vietnamese delegation, comprising military and police personnel, continued their search operations in the Playa Grande area of La Guaira state on July 3rd, locating and retrieving 15 more victims' bodies. This brings the total number of bodies recovered by the Vietnamese team to 45.

Major General Pham Van Ty, Deputy Director of the Department of Search and Rescue under Vietnam's General Staff, read a commendation letter from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang to the participating officers and professional soldiers. Meanwhile, representatives from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (C07) of Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security reported that during their fifth day of operations, the team expanded their search radius for earthquake victims.

The Vietnamese delegation also focused on hygiene and sanitation, with their medical team disinfecting cleaned areas to ensure public health. In the vicinity of the search site in Playa Grande, many displaced residents have erected temporary shelters along the roadside, living in extremely difficult conditions. In a gesture of solidarity, members of the Vietnamese rescue team shared small gifts of essential supplies, carefully portioned from their own rations, offering significant moral support to the Venezuelan people during their time of hardship.
