"Vilniaus apšvietimo" Head Appointed as Barkauskas

G. Barkauskas has been appointed as the new director of "Vilniaus apšvietimas," the company overseeing the lighting infrastructure of Vilnius, Lithuania's capital. He succeeds Jonas Sadauskas, who had been serving as the interim head and will now continue his responsibilities within the "Gija" company.

Barkauskas joins "Vilniaus apšvietimas" with a strong background in the energy sector. For the past three years, he worked at "Gija," where he led the Network Planning and Development team. In this role, he was responsible for the expansion of Vilnius's centralized heating networks and the development and implementation of reconstruction programs.

His previous experience also includes significant leadership roles at other prominent energy companies, such as "Amber Grid," "Energijos skirstymo operatorius," and "Lietuvos dujos." This diverse experience is expected to be invaluable in his new position.

Adomas Bužinskas, the administrative director of the Vilnius City Municipality, expressed his expectations for the new appointee. He stated that Barkauskas faces the task of further strengthening the company and modernizing the city's lighting infrastructure. "We expect the new director to rally a strong team that will undertake ambitious projects necessary for modern, safe, and sustainable city lighting," Bužinskas said in a statement.
