Vilnius Airport to Host New Hangar Following 25 Million Euro Investment

GetJet Group has secured a 40-year lease for an 11,200-square-meter plot at Vilnius Airport, signaling a significant investment in expanding its aviation services. The company won an auction for the land, where it plans to construct a new hangar, a move that is projected to create more than 100 new jobs.

Darius Viltrakis, CEO of GetJet Group, stated that this investment is a key component of the group's growth strategy. The primary goals are to bolster their technical maintenance capacity and reduce reliance on external service providers, thereby increasing operational efficiency and control.

Gintarė Norvilaitė-Tautevičė, interim head of Lithuanian Airports (LTOU), highlighted the project's contribution to Lithuania's competitiveness as a hub for high-value aviation services. Elijus Čivilis, head of the Invest Lithuania agency, emphasized that the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sector generates well-paid jobs, enhances the country's engineering expertise, and stimulates related business development.

GetJet Group is also undertaking another project on a nearby 4,700-square-meter plot, planning to invest approximately 10 million euros in constructing an additional hangar by 2029. Across Vilnius and Šiauliai airports, the group intends to create around 200 new jobs in the coming years. The National Security Commission confirmed that GetJet Group aligns with national security interests before the land lease agreement was finalized.
