Vilnius Prepares for Storm with Heavy Rain, Winds, and Hail Forecast

Vilnius is bracing for a severe storm, as meteorologists warn of impending thunderstorms, heavy rainfall potentially reaching 15-30 mm, squalls of 15-20 m/s, and hail. However, there remains a possibility that the most intense part of the storm could shift south, affecting Poland or Belarus.

In anticipation, the emergency services company 'Grinda' has reinforced its on-duty teams and deployed additional equipment. This preparedness aims to enable a swift response to any consequences of the storm, ensuring Vilnius can return to its normal rhythm as quickly as possible should the severe weather hit. The company stated, "If that happens, we will do everything we can to get Vilnius back to its normal rhythm as soon as possible."

Heavy rainfall could lead to flooding in some city streets, disrupting traffic. Strong winds pose a risk of breaking tree branches or even uprooting trees. Residents are strongly advised to stay informed about the latest meteorological updates, especially after noon. They are encouraged to avoid non-essential travel within the city and refrain from driving through flooded streets.
