Vilnius Public Transport Faces Delays Due to Gas Pipeline Repairs

Travelers relying on public transport in Vilnius should brace for potential delays as essential repair work commences. The city is undertaking significant gas pipeline maintenance, which will impact several key routes. The work is divided into two phases: excavation and road surface restoration.

Excavation is set to begin immediately and continue until July 22. Following this, road surface restoration will take place, extending the disruption until July 25. These operations are expected to cause delays for public transport vehicles operating from the direction of Stotis, Švitrigailos, and Naugarduko streets.

The public transport authority, JUDU, has urged passengers to stay informed by monitoring real-time information. This can be accessed via JUDU's digital displays, as well as through the JUDU, m.Ticket, and Google Maps mobile applications. JUDU also recommends that commuters check their specific route information before embarking on their journey and plan for additional travel time to mitigate the impact of the delays.
