Vilnius to host two special concerts next week: Nick Cave and Britain's Band of the Year

Vilnius is set to host two significant concerts next week, featuring the acclaimed Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and the British band Wolf Alice. The performances promise to showcase distinct yet powerful musical energies for Lithuanian audiences.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are scheduled to perform on August 18 at Kalnų parkas. This concert is one of the final European dates for their "Wild God" tour, which commenced in Germany in September 2024. Nick Cave has described the tour's evolution, noting how the band has moved towards a state of "primal, disembodied, ecstatic" energy on stage. The shows are characterized by Cave's intense engagement with the audience, creating a unique and powerful experience.

The concert will span various periods of Nick Cave's extensive career, featuring songs from classics like "Red Right Hand" and "The Mercy Seat" to newer material from "Wild God." The live performances are said to elevate this music to another level.

Following Nick Cave's performance, Vilnius will host Wolf Alice on August 19 at Lukiškių kalėjimas 2.0. The British band arrives at a career high, having been named Group of the Year at the BRIT Awards for the second time in 2024, having previously won in 2022. Known for their genre-bending sound that incorporates elements of indie rock, grunge, dream pop, and psychedelia, Wolf Alice has built a reputation for magnetic live performances. The evening will also feature Luvcat, the dark, theatrical alter ego of Sophie Morgan Howarth, whose music blends alternative rock, dark pop, and cabaret aesthetics.
