VinFast VF 8 new generation arrives at dealerships, priced from 999 million dong

The latest generation of the VinFast VF 8 electric SUV has officially landed at dealerships across Vietnam, with pre-orders opening for interested buyers. This new iteration of the D-segment electric SUV starts at a price of 999 million Vietnamese dong (approximately $40,000 USD).

VinFast is offering an early booking incentive: customers who place a deposit between May 27 and June 3, 2026, will receive a discount valued at 51 million dong. Deliveries of the first VF 8 units are anticipated by the end of July.

The updated VF 8 retains VinFast's signature "eagle wings" LED lighting design but features a more youthful and distinctive exterior, along with aerodynamic enhancements. It rides on 19-inch wheels and has a ground clearance of 170 mm.

Inside, the five-seater cabin adopts a minimalist design to maximize space. A prominent 12.9-inch central touchscreen dominates the dashboard. Notable features include dual-zone automatic climate control with an ionizer, a 6-way power-adjustable driver's seat, an 8-speaker audio system, and a Vietnamese virtual assistant capable of understanding regional dialects.

Powering the VF 8 is an electric motor producing 170kW (approximately 228 horsepower) and 330Nm of torque, driving the front wheels. It offers three driving modes and is equipped with a 60.13 kWh battery pack, providing an estimated NEDC range of up to 500 km. Fast charging capabilities allow the battery to go from 10% to 70% in under 30 minutes.

Significant upgrades include a new chassis platform and adaptive dampers (FSD) for a smoother ride, especially on rough roads. The vehicle also incorporates an SDV architecture with a central CVC computer and an ITM thermal management system to optimize performance and battery longevity. Safety features are designed to meet 5-star ASEAN NCAP standards, including advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like highway assist, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and a 360-degree camera.

VinFast provides a 7-year or 160,000 km warranty for the vehicle, and an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty for the battery.
