Vinh Long applies artificial intelligence to government workplace

Vĩnh Long province is embracing artificial intelligence (AI) to modernize its government operations and improve public services. The provincial People's Committee Vice Chairman, Nguyễn Quỳnh Thiện, emphasized AI's potential to streamline workflows and enhance decision-making during a recent workshop.

Thiện highlighted that AI can significantly reduce manual labor and processing times, leading to better quality recommendations and improved services for both citizens and businesses. He noted the rapid development of AI and its broad impact across economic and social sectors. In the public sector, AI is becoming a crucial tool for officials in information synthesis, data analysis, document drafting, report generation, task tracking, and advisory functions.

The province has committed to integrating AI into its daily administrative tasks by 2026, following the Politburo's Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW. This initiative aims for practical, controlled, and locally relevant AI applications. Discussions at the workshop focused on AI trends, opportunities, challenges, and information security risks associated with AI adoption in government agencies.

Participants also explored AI tools and platforms for administrative support, technological solutions for productivity and data management, and training needs for AI implementation. The Vĩnh Long Provincial Department of Science and Technology organized the event, which also included representatives from the Provincial Police discussing information security measures for AI tools.
