Visitor Loses Part of Finger on Dutch Amusement Park Ride

A young German visitor suffered a partial finger amputation during a ride on the "Crazy River" attraction at the Walibi amusement park in the Netherlands. The incident reportedly occurred when the visitor's hand became trapped between the boat and the ride's track.

According to Dutch radio station NOS, the visitor had to endure the entire three-minute ride while screaming in pain, as park staff did not immediately notice the severity of the situation. Other visitors also heard the man's cries. A rescue vehicle was called, and the attraction was temporarily closed.

Walibi park officials confirmed that the incident happened on Wednesday evening. Following a safety inspection, the ride reopened the next day. The park emphasized that there were no technical malfunctions and that visitors are instructed to keep their hands inside the boat during the ride. However, Walibi has initiated an investigation into whether its staff adequately monitored the adherence to safety regulations.
