Vivo to Establish Smartphone Manufacturing Hub in India After Joint Venture Approval

Chinese tech giant Vivo has finally received approval from the Indian government to establish a smartphone production center in India, marking a new phase for the company's manufacturing ambitions.

The approval, granted last Thursday, greenlights a manufacturing joint venture between Vivo and local producer Dixon Technologies. This partnership will involve the acquisition of specific manufacturing assets and the production of a portion of Vivo's smartphone orders within India.

Industry experts note that such local partnerships provide Chinese brands with a more stable operating model while supporting India's objective to increase local participation in electronics manufacturing.
