Vladimir Salo appointed head coach of Kyrgyz national youth football team

Vladimir Salo has been appointed as the new head coach for Kyrgyzstan's U15 national youth football team, according to the Kyrgyz Football Federation. This appointment marks a significant step in the team's development as they begin preparations for upcoming international competitions.

Under Salo's guidance, the U15 team will focus on training for the 2026 FIFA U15 World Cup and the FIFA Festival 2026 tournament. The latter event is scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan from October 22 to 31.

Salo possesses a wealth of experience in football, both as a player and a coach. He holds an AFC Category A coaching license, along with Category B and C licenses, which meet international standards for coaching youth national teams. His playing career included representing the Kyrgyz Republic national team from 1994 to 2004, where he was recognized as one of the leading footballers of his time.

Following his retirement from professional play, Salo transitioned to coaching, contributing significantly to the growth of Kyrgyz football. He has worked with various age groups in national teams and coached professional clubs, most recently serving as head coach for Dordoi Football Club.
