Volta Region prepares for inter-regional tournament

Twenty young soccer players from across the Volta Region have begun intensive training at Akatsi, gearing up for the upcoming Inter-Regional Basic Schools Sports Festival. These selected athletes represent the region's best talent in youth soccer, aiming to compete against top young players from around the country.

The regional team's preparation has received a significant boost thanks to generous financial support. Mr. Roger Tey, the Volta Regional Physical Education Coordinator, expressed gratitude for a GH₵15,000 donation from the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Bernard Ahiafor. Additionally, Togbui Tenuvi II contributed GH₵2,000 to aid the contingent's efforts.

Beyond the boys' soccer squad, the Volta Region is also fielding a girls' soccer team. The region's participation extends to other sports, with a volleyball team compiled by Coordinator Mr. Stanley Kwawuni and a robust athletics contingent. The athletics team features athletes competing in various track and field events, including the 1,500m, 800m, 3,000m, High Jump, 400m, Long Jump, Shot Put, and Triple Jump for both boys and girls.
