Volvo Drivers Rank Highest in IQ Study, BMW and Mini Drivers Lowest

Your choice of car might be a surprising indicator of your intelligence, according to a recent study. Researchers from the platform Freebets surveyed 2,000 British drivers, asking them to complete an IQ test and identify their vehicle. The findings suggest a correlation between car ownership and cognitive ability.

Drivers of Volvo vehicles emerged at the top of the rankings, achieving an average IQ score of 115. This score places them in the 'high average' category, indicating above-average intelligence. A spokesperson for Freebets, Tim Agnju, commented on the findings, noting that the results support a long-held perception of Volvo drivers being sensible.

Conversely, drivers of BMW and Mini cars were found to have the lowest average IQ scores, at 87. This falls into the 'low average' range. Other brands that performed well include Skoda, Tesla, Toyota, and Honda, all of whom scored higher than average. Land Rover, Vauxhall, and Fiat were also among the lower-ranked brands.

The study defined IQ score ranges, with 130 and above considered 'very superior,' 120-129 'superior,' 110-119 'high average,' 90-109 'average,' 80-89 'low average,' and 70-79 'borderline.' Scores of 69 and below indicate 'intellectual disability.' Skoda drivers ranked second with 113 points, followed by Tesla and Toyota drivers who tied at 112, and Honda drivers with 111.
