VP Gibran Prays Eid al-Adha at Istiqlal; President Prabowo in Paris

Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka observed the Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri prayers alongside his son, Jan Ethes Srinarendra, at the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta. The Vice President arrived at the mosque shortly before the prayers began at 7:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, dressed in a matching green outfit with his son.

A number of Indonesian cabinet ministers were also present at the Istiqlal Mosque for the Eid al-Adha prayers. These included Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni, Culture Minister Fadli Zon, and Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf.

In contrast, President Prabowo Subianto was scheduled to mark the Islamic holiday abroad. He was set to perform the Eid al-Adha prayers and meet with the Indonesian diaspora at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, France. President Prabowo arrived in Paris on Tuesday after a 16-hour flight from Jakarta, with his visit marking the start of a series of official state visits.
