Vytaras and Laisvė Radzevičiai’s unexpected proposal: ‘We’ll see what happens’

Vytaras Radzevičius plans to propose to his wife Laisvė after 37 years together, turning a lost ring into the centerpiece of the new season of “Vytaro’s Farm.”

The ring was made by the couple in 2009, but one of them ended up at the bottom of a lake. In the first episode, Radzevičius and diver Mantas from Alytus will enter the water to search for it. They will eventually recover the ring, creating a personal reminder of the couple’s shared history.

Laisvė has repeatedly complained that Vytaras never proposed. He now believes their 37th anniversary offers the right occasion to correct that omission. “After 37 years, I will finally propose to Laisvė retroactively. We’ll see what happens,” he says with a smile.

The new season will show more of the couple’s family life in Dzūkija, alongside daily farm work, food production and travel around Lithuania. Radzevičius jokes that life in the countryside constantly brings unfamiliar tasks, from cutting and feeding animals to redoing work after the cameras stop filming.

The farm will also gain two puppies after Radzevičius learns that his friend Arūnas’s dog is expecting a litter. Laisvė is unimpressed by the idea, calling it another of her husband’s foolish schemes. The program will also feature attempts at new dishes, visits with people who have changed their lives, and more extreme challenges. Radzevičius says he has already jumped with kayaks from a ramp, but expects further tests.
