Waratahs lift Super W title in Ba

Defending champions, the New South Wales Waratahs, have clinched their seventh Super W title by defeating the Fijian Drua 34-17 in Ba. The victory dashed the home team's hopes of securing a title win on their own soil.

The Australian side exerted significant pressure from the outset, pinning the Fijian Drua in their red zone for the first 18 minutes. This dominance allowed winger Maya Stewart to score the opening converted try. The Kolora Lomani-captained Drua struggled under pressure, missing scoring opportunities and exhibiting shaky lineouts in the first half.

Despite a brief resurgence in the second half, where the Drua managed to score two tries, the Waratahs maintained control. Nunia Daunimoala scored twice for the Drua, but it was not enough to counter the Waratahs' consistent scoring. The match concluded with the Waratahs solidifying their championship status, showcasing their consistent performance throughout the competition.
