Warmer weather to follow a wetter Saturday

Lithuania can expect a transition from dry conditions to rain on Saturday, with a gradual increase in warmth.

The morning will be dry nationwide, but rain clouds will appear near the Curonian Spit around noon, subsequently reaching the western and southwestern regions. This band of clouds will then move across the entire country, with rain expected in the eastern parts by evening. The southeastern and southern wind will shift to the southwest as the atmospheric front moves through, becoming strong with gusts up to 15 m/s in places. Temperatures are expected to climb to 20-24 degrees Celsius in many areas before the rain arrives, thanks to some sunny spells. However, western regions, anticipating a cloudier and wetter first half of the day, will see temperatures around 17-19 degrees, reaching 20 degrees in some spots.

Sunday's forecast indicates continued cloud cover with scattered short showers. The southern winds will ease slightly but remain moderate. Overnight temperatures will range from 10-15 degrees Celsius, reaching 16-18 degrees by the coast. Sunday daytime is predicted to be drier with brief showers in isolated areas. While the south and southwest winds will pick up again slightly, pleasant warmth is expected, with temperatures ranging from 21-26 degrees Celsius. The coast will be slightly cooler.

Looking ahead to Monday, short-term rain is expected to spread across a larger part of the country, though amounts will generally be small. Winds will blow from the south and southwest at 6-11 m/s. Overnight temperatures will drop to 12-17 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures will be summery, reaching 22-27 degrees Celsius. The coast will experience cooler conditions, around 20 degrees Celsius.
