WATCH: Over 30 arrested in crackdown on smuggling of illegal West Bank immigrants

Israeli forces conducted a large-scale operation in the West Bank on Sunday, arresting over 30 individuals suspected of smuggling illegal immigrants. The IDF searched dozens of locations across Tulkarm, Kalkilya, and other villages as part of efforts to combat illegal immigration and enhance national security.

Ephraim Brigade Commander Col. P. emphasized the importance of offensive operations against immigrant smuggling rings, stating they are key to defending Israel and preventing potential terrorist attacks. The military's actions underscore a commitment to border security.

In a separate incident on the same day, 11 illegal immigrants were arrested near Jerusalem while attempting to breach a border checkpoint. Police reported the individuals were traveling in a car with an Israeli license plate. The driver failed to stop for Border Guard officers and attempted to drive through the checkpoint before crashing. The driver, known to police, escaped and is now the subject of a manhunt. The apprehended immigrants were taken for questioning.
