Water supply to be cut in central Bishkek for nearly 24 hours

Residents in several central districts of Bishkek are advised to prepare for a significant water outage. The supply of drinking water to residential buildings, schools, kindergartens, healthcare facilities, and industrial sites will be suspended for almost a full day.

The shutdown is set to begin at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, June 17, 2026, and is expected to last until 6:00 AM on Wednesday, June 18. The affected areas include districts north of the railway line, specifically between the railway line, Razzakov, Bokonbaev, Panfilov, Frunze, Gogol, Zhumabek, Suyumbayev, Osmankulov streets, and the Alamedin River.

Other areas impacted are those above Lev Tolstoy Street, from the Kok-Jar water intake up to Gorky Street, including Tolstoy Street, the western side of Matrosov Street, and the eastern side of April 7 Street. Additionally, areas above Gorky Street, encompassing Gorky Street, April 7 Street, the Ulan-2 microdistrict, the Alamedin River, and Suvanberdiyev, Shukurov, Skryabin, and Bektenov streets will also be affected.

The municipal enterprise "Bishkekvodokanal" stated that the interruption is necessary for repair and preventive work at the Kok-Jar water intake. The company urges organizations and residents to stock up on drinking water in advance to mitigate the inconvenience.
