Wawasan welcomes cooperation from all for Negeri Sembilan polls

Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) has expressed its openness to all forms of cooperation, particularly initiatives that can unite Malay political power, especially in the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election. The party, which will be making its electoral debut, aims to serve as a unifying 'bridge' within Malaysian politics.

Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan, Wawasan's Vice President and Member of Parliament for Tasek Gelugor, stated that his party welcomes any cooperation that can consolidate Malay political strength. He expressed hope that all parties would engage in discussions to prevent electoral contests among themselves, which could inadvertently benefit the Pakatan Harapan coalition. "We don't want it to be that when we clash, Pakatan Harapan wins," he told Utusan Malaysia.

Wan Saiful stressed the importance of sincerity in negotiation processes to avoid situations where a single party's self-interest could derail efforts towards unity. Currently, seat allocation negotiations are ongoing. Previously, it was reported that Wawasan's Negeri Sembilan coordinator, Badrul Hisham Shahrin, revealed that the party was negotiating with all parties except Pakatan Harapan for the state election. He also indicated that discussions included Barisan Nasional, citing the success of BN candidates in the Johor state election as a positive precedent.

In related news, Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has stated his willingness to accept a candidate from UMNO for the Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) position in Negeri Sembilan, should a cooperation agreement between Pas and UMNO be finalized and lead to victory in the state election. Negotiations for seat allocations between Pas and UMNO are reportedly progressing positively.
