Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia is steering the state with a focus on development and economic transformation, aiming to move beyond what he describes as a "glorified village status." Alia, who has governed for three years, asserts that his administration is guided by a clear mission and vision, establishing a master plan for Benue's progress.

Central to his development agenda is the revival of state-owned enterprises. The governor proudly announced the successful relaunch of the Benue Food Basket Brewery, which produces Zeva Beer. He explained that the brewery's closure led to significant capital flight as residents relied on external products. The revived brewery, along with a juice factory and a concentrate factory, are now operational and monitored to ensure their sustainability. These ventures are designed to utilize local produce such as sorghum, cassava, and corn, thereby capturing the value chain benefits within the state.

Alia also stressed the importance of improving urban and rural areas to foster a sense of belonging and hope among the populace. He decried opposition to President Bola Tinubu's reforms, which he believes have unlocked funds for national transformation, urging critics to reconsider their stance. The governor positions his administration as peaceful and focused on tangible improvements for the people of Benue.
