Weather Alert: Slight Temperature Drop in East, Winds Up to 8 Beaufort in Aegean

Greece is bracing for a mixed bag of weather conditions, with strong winds and scattered thunderstorms expected across various regions. The Hellenic National Meteorological Service forecasts northerly winds reaching up to 8 Beaufort in the southeastern Aegean and the Dodecanese islands.

Accompanying these winds will be afternoon thunderstorms affecting western and central mainland Greece. While the eastern parts of the country will experience a slight temperature decrease, with highs around 34 degrees Celsius, western mainland areas could see temperatures climb as high as 38 degrees Celsius locally.

The forecast indicates generally clear skies with temporary increased cloudiness in the mornings in the northeast and afternoons in the mainland. Thunderstorms are specifically predicted for western and central Macedonia, Epirus, and potentially western Sterea and Thessaly. Winds will vary, with southerly breezes of 4-5 Beaufort in the west and northerly winds of 5-7 Beaufort, reaching up to 8 Beaufort in the southeast Aegean.

Temperatures will see a temporary drop, particularly in the east. The Ionian Islands and mainland Greece will experience highs between 35-37 degrees Celsius, with local peaks of 38 degrees in the west. Aegean islands will be cooler, around 30-31 degrees, while southern Crete could reach 33-34 degrees Celsius.
