Weather: Temperatures rise, African dust returns – where rain is expected

These elements are expected to dominate the weather across the country in the coming days, according to the latest meteorological predictions.

While much of the country will generally experience clear skies, localized rain and thunderstorms are anticipated, particularly in the northern mountainous regions. The winds are also set to intensify considerably, reaching up to 8 Beaufort in some areas. The temperature will remain high, although a slight decrease is expected mid-week.

Specifically, on Tuesday, the weather will remain mostly clear with temporary clouds in the mountains of mainland Greece, where there's a chance of local rain. Winds will shift to northerly, ranging from 4 to 6 Beaufort, potentially reaching 7 to 8 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea by evening. The temperature will see a slight drop in the northeast.

Wednesday is expected to continue with generally clear skies, but temporary clouds may form over mainland mountainous areas during the warmer hours, with a possibility of local rain or isolated thunderstorms in the northern mountains. Winds will blow from the east in the west (3-5 Beaufort) and northeast in the east (5-7 Beaufort), reaching up to 8 Beaufort in the Aegean. Temperatures are forecast to slightly decrease.

Looking ahead to Thursday, the weather is expected to remain generally clear. Localized clouds might develop in the mountainous areas of mainland Greece and Crete during the afternoon, with a possibility of brief showers or rain. Winds will persist from the north-northeast at 5-7 Beaufort, reaching up to 8 Beaufort in the Aegean. No significant temperature change is expected.
