Weather: Up to 28C at the start of the week, then a sharp cooldown

Lower Saxony and Bremen will start the new week with late-summer warmth, but temperatures will fall noticeably from Tuesday.

Monday will bring sunny to partly cloudy conditions, with highs of about 23C on the islands and 25C to 28C inland. Isolated showers cannot be ruled out, although most areas will remain dry. Winds will generally be light to moderate.

More clouds will arrive overnight into Tuesday, with some rain or brief showers possible in the west. On Tuesday, rain and showers will spread from the northwest. Highs will reach only 19C on the coast and 23C around Hannover and Göttingen. Southwest winds will become temporarily strong and gusty near the sea.

The unsettled pattern will continue through the middle of the week. Rain is possible again overnight into Wednesday, with isolated thunderstorms near the North Sea. Wednesday will bring further showers and isolated thunderstorms, with heavier rain possible in the west alongside clearer spells. Temperatures will fall to 17C on the coast and 20C in the south, while southwest winds strengthen and may become strong and gusty, particularly near the North Sea.
