The forecast indicates that areas experiencing storms could also face very strong wind gusts, hail, intense electrical activity, and abundant rain in short bursts. This severe weather signals the end of a recent warm spell, often referred to as 'veranillo' or Indian summer. Temperatures are set to drop significantly, by more than ten degrees Celsius over the weekend, with Montevideo seeing a decrease from a high of 25°C on Friday to a maximum of 20°C on Saturday and 13°C on Sunday.

Meteorologists, including Mario Bidegain, have shared predictions showing a similar sharp decline in temperatures.
