Welbeck joins Chelsea on two-year contract

Chelsea has secured the signing of striker Danny Welbeck from Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion, agreeing to a contract that runs until 2028. The 35-year-old England international is set to join manager Xabi Alonso's squad during the club's pre-season tour.

Welbeck brings a wealth of top-level experience to Stamford Bridge. He has made over 400 Premier League appearances, competed in the UEFA Champions League, and represented England in two FIFA World Cups. Capped 42 times by his country, he scored 16 international goals and participated in Euro 2012. His career began at Manchester United, where he won multiple titles, including the Premier League. He later played for Arsenal, winning the FA Cup, and then Watford before his spell at Brighton, where he scored 26 Premier League goals over the past two seasons.
