West Java Governor Acts to Repatriate Stranded Indonesian Sailors in Fiji

Five Indonesian sailors working on a fishing vessel in Fiji have appealed to their government for help, reporting they have been stranded for nearly three weeks. The sailors, originating from Sukabumi in West Java, expressed their distress and requested urgent assistance for repatriation.

Upon learning of the situation, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi swiftly intervened. He has reportedly contacted the Indonesian Ambassador to Fiji and plans to summon the responsible agency to facilitate the sailors' return. Mulyadi acknowledged the information, stating that although it was not directly addressed to him, his office would follow up on the plight of the West Javanese sailors stranded in Fiji.

The governor's proactive response highlights a commitment to assisting citizens abroad. The sailors' plea underscores the challenges faced by Indonesian maritime workers overseas and the importance of government support in resolving such crises.
