What Alejandro Stoessel allegedly did to push Tini back onstage during her darkest period

Tini Stoessel was dealing with depression, anxiety and panic attacks when, according to a television panel, her father and former representative pushed her toward a return to the stage.

On the América TV program Sálvese quien pueda, panelist Majo Martino said Alejandro Stoessel had scheduled 14 shows at Buenos Aires’ Luna Park. Tini felt so unwell that she said she would not perform them. Martino described that refusal as the first boundary Tini had set with her father.

Martino said Stoessel then repeatedly sent Tini images of Emilia Mernes while Tini was withdrawn. The messages allegedly pointed out that Mernes had copied elements of Tini’s stage wardrobe, was gaining ground, and had the same dancer and costume designer. “Instead of being supported, she was constantly receiving messages that another artist, who had been her friend at the time, was gaining more ground, and she felt the pressure,” Martino said.

At that moment, her father had scheduled 14 Luna Park shows for her. She felt so bad that she said she would not do them. It was the first boundary she set with him.

Tini and Mernes had previously been close friends and worked together on several songs, including the hit “La Original.” Their relationship later broke down, with no reconciliation apparent in the short term.

Fellow panelist Yanina Latorre suggested that Alejandro had acted more like a representative than a father. She compared the situation to an injured football player watching another player take his place in the starting lineup. Tini is now in Mexico on her Futttura tour, without Alejandro as her representative. Their professional relationship, which began 15 years ago, ended three months ago.
