When hardship and calamity strike, prayers taught by the Prophet

Hardship and calamity are unavoidable parts of life’s trials, the article says. In such circumstances, Muslims are encouraged not only to remain patient but also to increase their prayers and seek help from Allah.

One prayer, attributed to a narration from Ibn Abbas in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, begins: “There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, the Magnificent, the Forbearing. There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, the Lord of the mighty Throne. There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, the Lord of the heavens, the Lord of the earth and the Lord of the noble Throne.”
