White House: Zelenskyy to meet Trump next week in Washington

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington next Tuesday, according to an official speaking on condition of anonymity. The meeting is set to take place at the White House.

This high-level encounter occurs on the same day as the funeral for U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, a prominent supporter of Ukraine who passed away earlier this month. Kyiv has not yet confirmed Zelenskyy's attendance at the meeting with Trump or his participation in Graham's funeral.

Zelenskyy has been actively engaged in diplomatic efforts, recently speaking with Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner. These discussions aimed to restart stalled negotiations to end the war in Ukraine, which has been ongoing for over four years. U.S.-led talks on a ceasefire have faltered as Washington's focus shifted towards the conflict with Iran.

Adding to the diplomatic activity, Trump is also scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the same day as the planned meeting with Zelenskyy. While the relationship between Trump and Zelenskyy has seen periods of tension, it has reportedly warmed in recent months following discussions in the Oval Office in February 2025. A recent sign of easing tensions included Zelenskyy's talks with right-wing U.S. commentator Laura Loomer, a Trump confidante. Loomer, a conservative voice with millions of online followers, recently reversed her anti-Ukrainian stance, expressing regret for previously downplaying the Ukrainian struggle.
