During an episode of their program "Descasadas" on July 21, the legislators referred to older men in a derogatory manner, with Salvatori commenting that "old men smell like a trunk." Palomares added, "They are already rotting," referring to the skin of older adults, while laughing.

The deputies' comments quickly sparked outrage on social media, with users accusing them of discrimination. In response to the backlash, Palomares posted a statement on Facebook apologizing for the interpretation of her remarks and asserting her respect for the elderly, citing her work on initiatives for their well-being. Salvatori also took to the platform, claiming her words were taken out of context and used in a different narrative. She also offered an apology, stating her intention was never to attack or discredit the group.

Nayeli Salvatori Bojalil, born in 1985, is a politician, communicator, and influencer from Puebla. She holds a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and a master's in Public Administration. Before entering politics, she worked in media and gained popularity on TikTok. She previously served as a federal deputy and is currently a local deputy in Puebla.

Elvia Graciela Palomares Ramírez, also a local deputy in Puebla, was born in 1989 and has a degree in Administration. The controversy has led Morena to initiate proceedings to suspend the party membership of both deputies.
