The Whoosh High-Speed Train experienced an unexpected halt on Sunday, July 19, 2026, near Cimahi, West Java. The train, identified as KA G1039 traveling from Halim Station in Jakarta to Tegalluar Station in Bandung, stopped at KM 117 in Leuwigajah around 4:11 PM Western Indonesian Time.

KCIC Corporate Communication Manager Emir Monti stated that the train's electrical systems were shut down to allow for the safe removal of the kite. The entire process, from power down to resumption of service, took approximately four minutes, with the train back in operation by 4:24 PM. This swift resolution minimized delays for passengers.

Monti noted that such disruptions involving kites have become increasingly frequent in recent weeks, particularly along the Padalarang to Bandung section of the route. He expressed concern over the rising intensity of these incidents, highlighting that this latest event occurred shortly after the company had addressed the issue of kite interference. The Cimahi-Padalarang area appears to be the most affected.
