Wife of Pemalang Regent Silent Upon Arrival at KPK

Noor Faizah Maenofie, wife of Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro, offered no comment when she arrived at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) headquarters in South Jakarta on Wednesday evening. Her arrival followed her apprehension in a sting operation conducted by the KPK in Pemalang, Central Java.

The KPK's operation, which began Tuesday, July 28, 2026, led to the detention of 21 individuals in Pemalang. Maenofie, along with six others, arrived at the KPK building in a bus provided by investigators. Her husband, Anom Widiyantoro, was arrested in Jakarta with four others.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that 12 of the 21 individuals apprehended will undergo further examination. The investigation reportedly centers on allegations of gratification, specifically in connection with the practice of selling positions within the Pemalang Regency government. The KPK has seized approximately 2 billion Indonesian Rupiah in cash as part of the operation, though its direct link to the alleged bribery remains under investigation.

Prasetyo indicated that the KPK is still gathering details before formally announcing the case. The exact nature of the alleged gratification and the role of those arrested are yet to be fully disclosed as the investigation proceeds.
