Wildfires Approach Homes in Kubu Raya, Residents Endure Smoke

Thick smoke from wildfires and land fires is blanketing residential areas in Kubu Raya, West Kalimantan, as the blazes creep closer to homes. The fires, which have raged for 12 days and scorched over 10 hectares, are now a serious concern for local communities.

Firefighting teams, comprising government and private sector personnel, are battling to contain the inferno and prevent it from engulfing the nearby neighborhoods. While they have managed to slow the fire's advance, residents continue to suffer from the pervasive smoke, which disrupts daily life and degrades air quality.
