Will there be a 'bridge' holiday after Fiestas Patrias? Check the rules for July 30 and 31

Following Peru's Fiestas Patrias celebrations on July 28 and 29, many workers have inquired about extending their holiday with July 30 and 31 potentially forming a long weekend. However, official government decrees confirm that these dates will not be recognized as national holidays or non-working days.

According to the official calendar of holidays and Supreme Decree N.° 075-2026-PCM, the special measures for Fiestas Patrias included Monday, July 27, as a non-working day for the public sector, and the national holidays on July 28 and 29. Consequently, work activities are set to resume normally starting Thursday, July 30.

For the public sector, the non-working day on July 27 required employees to compensate for the missed hours later, as stipulated by the decree. For the private sector, this day was only applicable if agreed upon between employers and employees.

The next national holiday in Peru is scheduled for Wednesday, August 6, marking the anniversary of the Battle of Junín. As of now, the government has not announced any additional non-working days that would extend this upcoming holiday period.
