Woman Charged with Murder in Regina Double Shooting

Regina police have charged a 19-year-old woman with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths of two people earlier this week. The victims, a 42-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man, were discovered deceased outside a residence on Elphinstone Street on Tuesday.

Officers were dispatched to the scene around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday following a report that two individuals had been shot. Upon arrival, they found the two victims. The suspect, identified as a 19-year-old female, reportedly fled the scene and attempted to evade authorities by hiding in a nearby yard.

A police canine unit was deployed to locate the suspect. During her apprehension, the woman was bitten by a police dog and subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment before being taken into custody. In addition to the murder charges, she faces counts for unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a loaded, prohibited firearm.

Regina police have stated they will not release the names of the victims out of respect for their families' wishes. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
