Woman Confronts Grizzly Bear on Canadian Trail, Dog Safe

A woman walking her dog in the Canadian Rockies had a terrifyingly close encounter with a grizzly bear, but managed to fend off the animal through a tense standoff. The incident occurred on a remote mountain trail near Kananaskis, west of Calgary.

The woman, identified as Jessie, was on a morning walk with her dog when she came face-to-face with the grizzly. Instead of fleeing, Jessie chose to confront the bear, making aggressive growling noises. She held onto her dog's leash with one hand while holding a coffee in the other.

For approximately 1 minute and 20 seconds, Jessie stood her ground, facing the persistent grizzly. Her determined actions eventually caused the bear to retreat back into the forest, narrowly avoiding a dangerous escalation.

The dramatic encounter was captured on video, reportedly by a camping tour company called Wilderness Escape Adventures, and shared on social media. The footage vividly portrays the fear and tension of the moment, highlighting the woman's bravery in the face of a potentially deadly wild animal.
