Woman Swept into Storm Drain Near Caracas Stadium Found Dead; Child Still Missing

Emergency responders in Venezuela's Miranda state discovered the body of a woman who was swept into a storm drain near Caracas's Estadio Monumental. Intense rainfall on Saturday caused a nearby river to overflow, leading to the tragic incident.

The victim, identified as Keylin Quintero, was traveling on a motorcycle with her young son and another individual when the bike skidded due to the high water levels on the road. While the driver managed to stay safe, the woman and the child were pulled into the drainage system, prompting an immediate search and rescue operation.

Juan Carlos Oti, the vice minister for Risk Management and Civil Protection, had previously reported the situation. Authorities and emergency services continue their efforts to locate the missing child. The motorcycle driver is receiving care for the emotional distress caused by the event. Officials have reiterated warnings for people to exercise caution when riding motorcycles during heavy rainfall.
