Work permit application process to be streamlined in Fiji

Fiji's Ministry of Immigration is set to enhance the efficiency of its services by streamlining the work permit application process. Starting next Tuesday, the ministry will implement new arrangements that remove five standard administrative requirements.

These removed requirements include the tripartite agreement, advertisement necessity, training plan, local understudy requirement, and the application received analysis. The ministry stated that these changes will allow officials to dedicate more attention to the statutory and regulatory aspects crucial for each work permit application.

Officials stressed that this streamlined process will not diminish or alter Fiji's existing immigration, security, or compliance standards. All applications will continue to be rigorously assessed according to the nation's immigration laws, policies, and procedures. The initiative is designed to provide more efficient immigration services while upholding essential safeguards and regulatory norms.
