The team has endured seven previous failed attempts to qualify for the tournament, a journey shadowed by past tragedies, including a devastating 1979 air crash that claimed the lives of multiple players from Uzbekistan's top club, Pakhtakor Tashkent, effectively wiping out a generation of talent.

Despite these historical setbacks, Uzbekistan demonstrated consistent performance throughout the Asian qualifiers, securing their coveted spot in the upcoming World Cup. The squad features prominent players such as Manchester City defender Abdukodir Khusanov, alongside the dynamic duo from the Turkish league, midfielders Abbosbek Fayzullaev and Eldor Shomurodov, who are expected to lead the team's charge.
