Yataity del Norte: Residents demand equipment for hospital after 5-year wait

After a five-year wait marked by construction delays and setbacks, the new basic hospital in Yataity del Norte is finally in its final stages of completion. However, residents are now urgently calling on the Ministry of Health to equip the facility so it can become operational as soon as possible.

Pobladores of the Yataity district emphasized the critical need to launch all hospital services immediately after the building's final details are addressed. The construction work is being carried out by Constructora JL y Compañía SA. The "Yataity del Norte Solidario" committee, led by parish priest Cristian Paiva, has been a key advocate, noting that the hospital's infrastructure improvements, which began in 2021, are nearing completion despite previous work stoppages and abandonment.

Paiva highlighted that citizens from Yataity and surrounding areas are eagerly anticipating the hospital's opening. He pointed out that the current institution lacks essential services due to a shortage of necessary equipment and sufficient medical personnel to meet the population's demands. The planned expansion aims to improve patient care with new facilities, including a laboratory, X-ray services, dentistry, obstetrics, and neonatology.

In response to the community's demands, Dr. Darío Soria, director of the Second Health Region, confirmed that the relevant procedures are underway with the Ministry of Health for the acquisition of the equipment required to make the Yataity del Norte basic hospital functional. The community hopes that the new infrastructure and equipment will significantly enhance healthcare services for the region.
